A Home, School & Community Youth Development Organization

Who We Are

Rings vs. Rent Scholarship Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Home, School & Community youth development organization built on a simple belief: young people are more likely to succeed when the adults, institutions, and communities surrounding them operate as one team.
Through school-based programming, mentoring, leadership development, community engagement, family engagement, college and career readiness, workforce exposure, financial literacy, and educational pathways, Rings vs. Rent helps young people develop the character, skills, relationships, experiences, and mindset necessary to thrive in school, at home, in their communities, and throughout adulthood.

Mission

Rings vs. Rent Scholarship Foundation empowers young people and families to achieve lifelong success by uniting the home, school, and community around education, personal development, accountability, service, and preparation for life beyond the classroom. Through school-based support, mentoring, leadership development, community engagement, college and career readiness, and educational pathways, we help young people develop the skills, relationships, experiences, and mindset necessary to thrive in school, at home, in their communities, and throughout adulthood.

Vision

We envision communities where the home, school, and community operate as one team to ensure every young person is prepared to succeed – not simply measured by trophies, titles, athletic accomplishments, or short-term achievements, but by education, character, service, self- sufficiency, meaningful relationships, career readiness, and the ability to positively contribute to the next generation.

The Story Behind "Rings vs. Rent"

Rings vs. Rent was born from a simple question: What happens after the championship?
Coach Michael Bailey spent decades in education, athletics, coaching, and collegiate administration and witnessed young people achieve recognition through sports while sometimes remaining unprepared for the responsibilities and opportunities that followed.

A championship ring represents achievement – but education, character, preparation, self- sufficiency, and the ability to build a sustainable future determine what happens long after the game ends.

Rings vs. Rent was created to help young people prepare for that future.

What began as a vision centered on scholarships and degree completion has grown into a comprehensive Home, School &  Community youth development model supporting young people throughout their educational, personal, and career journeys.
